Hey so this is my first liquid cooled rig, Which is great and is running great 0 problems so far. But i just had a quick question,

When should i clean it and put new water in and so on? So far i'v had it for 3 months to the day and so far it seems fine.

I know that you need to check for things in the water which i have been but kinda hard to tell with it being red.

Thanks in advance

Oh no... there is a difference between "Water Cooled" and "Liquid Cooled". Distilled water can be used to clean out the system, AFAIK, but not for everyday use.

I certain the gurus will be along in a moment to set the record straight.

The liquids used are sensitive and don't play with others well.

In short you don't want to add just any red fluid, you need to either find what brand/model your fluid was or flush the system and start with new fluid.

You can use distilled water to add but not the best idea, you can use distilled water long term but with a good fluid you should get better results (depending).

People like to use different terms but normally water cooled is the same as liquid cooled, just a different term for the same thing, which is what I belive Snaike was trying to say.

Also as Snaike mentioned distilled water is great for flushing /cleaning.

Once a year should be flushed for optimum performance.

Water is a liquid but not all liquids are water. It would serve you to call DS to find out what brand/type coolant was used in your system and either order the same or order elsewhere once you know what it is and keep a bottle around. There are different ideas on how long to keep in the system before draining, flushing with distilled water and refilling. Have seen from 1 to 3 years and more. Others with more knowledge will advise us better.
You also  did not seem to be sure as to what cooler you have. The PRO requires more maintenance than the other options. It will make a difference.
Enjoy your system.Awesome

For reference you can look at the thread I posted here a little over a month ago, but to make a long story short it varies lol. I left my original coolant in for about 15 months because I figured it would be ok given that I had a mild OC on my CPU and my rig was running 24/7. I ended up noticing an algae build up in the resevoir and decided to do a full teardown of the tubing and replace it with clear tubing. It was a fun and enlightening experience. I also ended up running part of Mayhem's blitz cleaning kit through the system to flush out any other growth (i did notice some silt in the bottom of the bucket at the end). Just be cautious with what you use since not all chemicals play nice with certain metals in cooling setups.
