Topic: Loud beeping sound coming from PC during gameplay? Posted: 06 Aug 2016 at 12:56am |
Hello, I did something dumb on mc PC with file directories as soon as I got it, so I immediately did a quick reset. (Thought it would be fine, since I didn't install much)
I updated some drivers, I updated the BIOS as well, but now sometimes whenever I play a game on high detail, I get a loud beeping noise coming from the PC. I don't know whether this is from motherboard or GPU. I am thinking it's the fan settings, I reinstalled corsair link but I don't know why it's making a super loud noise. I have no cpu overclock, high performance fans and a 850 watt powersupply, I don't know what's causing this loud beeping noise. EDIT: Update!!! Apparently it was not coming from my PC, but from my outlet adapter (it has it's own volts). I replaced it with a regular adapter, hope everything's fine now. Side note: Is it important to get a good outlet adapter (surge protector) for your PC setup? I was thinking having proper PSU was fine enough.

I would either get a ups that can do 850w or plug it directly to the wall. Forget those cheap surge protectors.
They get pricy but here is one that should do for you check with apc to see what is best for you. Edited by DST4ME - 06 Aug 2016 at 2:09am |

Wow do I really need that expensive UPS? I was thinking maybe more premium surge protector which has more than a thousand watts. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16812120524&cm_re=tripp_lite-_-12-120-524-_-Product&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-VigLink2-_-na-_-na-_-na&cm_sp=&AID=10446076&PID=3821802&SID=irjbt5e1z6000a1700053
Per your advice, I decided to get this https://www.amazon.com/CyberPower-CP1500PFCLCD-Sinewave-Compatible-Mini-Tower/dp/B00429N19W/ref=cm_cr_dp_asin_lnk The APC with pure sine wave, are VERY expensive (over 300 dollars) Lots of good reviews on this cyberpower. Hope it protects my investment. Quick question: After doing a quick system reset, I updated: BIOS, wifi, and some other random drivers. I was wondering though - I downloaded corsair link. Was there a custom setting for fans that DS uses? I just set it on balanced through corsair link. Edited by Moritsuna - 06 Aug 2016 at 9:13am |

APC is the quality maker that is why I recommend them, cyberpower has quality issues.
You don't have to get a UPS, but a good one will protected everything you put on it. I like to have my fans on high(80%) for best airflow, but my pc is under load 24/7, you may want to have them on high only when you put your pc underload if the sound bothers you. Make sure you not messing with cpu cooler and gpu fans tho, you want the cpu fan on auto so it can go as high as it needs to if it does, gpu should be set to go to 85% is my target for the highest. |

@Moritsuna did you notice that the reviews for that cyberpower is not for the 1500v and instead mainly for the 1000v and 850v bunched up all in one? And some reviews are not even verified purchaser
and most of the negative reviews are for the 1500va: sounds like this one does not work right with win 10. I would cancel this item. Edited by DST4ME - 06 Aug 2016 at 8:01pm |

Thanks, I'll look more closely at this. But the the company you recommend with pure sine wave is over $300??
By the way, do you know why my GPU fan speed is at 0 rpm? Or is it just not being detected? Edited by Moritsuna - 06 Aug 2016 at 8:45pm |

Have a look here and afterburner and that will give you proper control over your gpu and it's fan.
Yes a good backup will cost you a pretty penny as you can see, but as I mentioned its not needed but it does provide great protection. Edited by DST4ME - 06 Aug 2016 at 9:00pm |

Thanks - Just wondering if you knew anything about the "pure sine wave" because the item you recommended http://www.apc.com/shop/us/en/products/Power-Saving-Back-UPS-XS-1500/P-BX1500G
Does not have it, while the cyberpower does. Also, many amazon products have pages filled with 1 star reviews, including the APC - |

I'm not that much of an expert in the subject but "pure sine wave" gets more expensive doesn't it.
Not sure which apc you are looking at but checkout this one this is the BR here is the BX I see they bunched up reviews here also but most of the bad reivews for the BR 1500 is DOA, which tells me they have been sitting in the warehouse and battery has died or some other issue, DOA is not a reason I don't buy a product, since I can return it and get a working one, just make sure amazon is the one fulfilling the order. Long story short I had the old version of the BX/BR and it works great. The BR allows you to buy an extral pack for it that holds 4 batteries plus the 2 in the BR you endup with 6 batteries for a longer run time if you needed it. Got it today, but when I handle it there's a rattling noise from the inside. I am thinking something broke while shipping - the unit works, but maybe it's the fan? Do you hear the fan or do you feel cool air because I feel none of these. |

As I mentioned I had the older version that didn't have a fan or if it did I never seen or hear it.
