So, I have been using this awesome avon laptop for about 4 months now. but for some reason it recently is having trouble keeping the frame rates high on games that I play regularly. I change the graphics settings in game and it literally changes nothing. my drivers are up to date, please help

One thing to try is to make sure the laptop is actually using your dedicated graphics card.  Optimus is what Nvidia uses to switch between dedicated and the igpu graphic chip, that way the battery life is extended when the energy drawing card isn't needed.

Go into Nvidia Control Panel......Manage 3D settings....Global tab.....make sure High performance Nvidia Graphics is selected.

Also run Hwmonitor while gaming to check that the cpu and gpu cores aren't going into the 90"s Centigrade.  If it overheats the chips will throttle down to preserve them.    Dust buildup in the fans and heat sinks is a common cause.

Changing the settings worked! thanks frames are up and in the 90s now
