Hey everyone,
I received my new DS Marauder Level 4 about a week ago, and I love it! But tonight I've encountered my first problem. While in the middle of Borderlands 2, my system restarted itself. Upon startup, it gave me this: "Power supply surges detected during the previous power on. ASUS Anti-Surge was triggered to protect system from unstable power supply unit!". When I tried to go back to Borderlands, it did the same thing as the game was starting. So when I turned it back on I went to Google Chrome to post on here asking for help, and it happened again. So I unplugged the system from the wall, made sure all the cables inside were connected and in place, turned it back on and actually made it to the Borderlands menu and here to post this. It seems to be working fine now. This is actually my first PC in a pretty long time, as I've been using a Macbook, and my first gaming PC ever. So I'm kind of a noob when it comes to this stuff. Does anyone know what could have caused this? EDIT - Just played about 20 or so minutes of Borderlands 2 and everything was just fine. No restarts or anything. Hi RyanA..... Hopefully a loose cable to the motherboard fixed it. Was the 24 pin or 8 pin cables to the mobo loose or not seated tight?
If it happens again then plug directly into wall outlet, bypass a power strip or use a different outlet. Does sound like a bad psu but unplugging and then re plugging might've fixed it. Good luck. |

Thank you for your reply bprat! The cables didn't feel like they were loose, but maybe one of them was just loose enough to be causing it. It seems to be fine again this morning. As I was able to make it in game and run around for a few minutes, and able to make it on here to reply.
I also read that sometimes the ASUS Anti-Surge can be a bit wonky, and be a bit over-sensitive. Some say to just disable it. If it happens again, I could try that. |

I appreciate it! I'm seriously loving this computer. Also, I apologize for not posting this thread in the Technical Assistance section. I've been lurking these forums for a while and had no idea that when you register, that section shows up!
