So, I'm getting my first ever gaming computer (specs below) and I'm trying to decide on either a 1080p gaming monitor or a 1440 monitor. And by extension TN or IPS. I primarily play games like Fallout 4, Primal, Total War Warhammer, GTAV, and occasionally a FPS like Eternal Crusade. I worry about overheating the system as I did that one time to a computer about 12 years ago. I prefer to have great graphics and smoothness over having the fastest twitch finger. I have about $350-$550 towards a monitor and would prefer a 27". So any advice on a specific monitors or specs I should look for is greatly appreciated. I appreciate any help-THANKS!

Sorry about the late reply, but go with whatever fits into your budget and needs.
Also, are you looking for a particular refresh rate on your new monitor (i.e. 60hz, 75hz, 144hz, etc.) or are you in it for the resolution? From personal experience, having a high refresh rate just looks and feels so nice even when compared to 4K. 1440P and 120hz or higher looks incredible under many gameplay circumstances. http://www.dell.com/en-us/shop/dell-24-gaming-monitor-s2417dg/apd/210-aizs/monitors-monitor-accessories This is what I personally use and love!
