It looks like the motherboard in my computer needs to be replaced. This was determined after a lot of troubleshooting and support from DS. Here is a link to my other topic (http://www.digitalstormonline.com/forums/no-video-signal-tidf24480/). Unfortunately I'm not a computer builder so I'm a bit stumped on what to replace it with or what to expect once it is replaced.

Currently I have the ASUS-P8P67 (http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/P8P67/). I only run a single video card, SLI is not needed. I currently have 8 GB (2 sticks) of memory. Not sure what other information is needed.

Any recommendations for a new MOBO are greatly appreciated. Once I replace the MOBO and hook everything backup is there anything else I need to be aware during the setup process? Thanks for the help.

I just went to NewEgg and searched lga 1155 motherboard.   A slew of them pop up, more than I would have thought. Strong

Gigabyte and Asus are my first thought but any should be fine.

Since I'm obviously clueless , can you recommend a specific one or two I should look into? Thanks so much, I just don't want to purchase the wrong one. Thanks yet again and let me know where I should mail the check for all your time and help.

Pretty much any of these will work. Z77 was the top of the line, but it looks like you can get a certified refurbished one at a decent price compared to the available stock.

BIOS setup is the only other thing you'll need to worry about after you get everything plugged in. If you had any special overclocking, fan adjustments, or otherwise, you'll need to get that all configured.

i replaced a P67 Asus mobo on my 4 year-old comp about a year ago.  i had an Asus P67 Deluxe and replaced it with the P8Z77-V PRO.  i hate the difference in audio quality, and the deluxe oc'd better, but it has served my needs well in most other regards.  i'm getting older so my hearing isn't as good, but the audio on this model seems really low, despite having settings on max with boost enabled.  as a result of this experience i'll never buy a board without the better audio codecs on it.  hope my experience helps you make a more informed choice.

Thanks for the advice/help everyone. I've decided to do a full upgrade instead of replacing items on the older computer. I plan on reusing some of my newer components (e.g. the video card) to keep costs down.
