I am planning on updating my computer and had a few questions I was hoping someone could help me with.
I currently have the EVGA X58 LE Edition SLI motherboard. I had read that I could use 3x 8gb RAM for it. Does anyone have any experience or intel on what is the best compatible RAM I can get for this motherboard? Also, I was looking at the EVGA GTX 1080 Founder's Edition GPU. How would you guys rate it compared to other GPU's out there? Is it the best in the $500-$700 price range? Would it be better to get it or a cheaper card and run in SLI mode? Thank you much ahead of time for any information. |

Here's a link where we discussed x58 ram......
http://www.digitalstorm.com/forums/memory-recommendation-for-evga-x58-motherboard-tidf23654/ Basically, any decent name brand like Corsair, Crucial, etc at 1600mhz and timing around 9-9-9-24 should do it. Use CPU-z under the memory tab to see what you have now. Do you need 24gb ram. Gaming...no. Productivity...maybe. I'd go with a Asus or EVGA video card. Better components and cooling with a custom card. What resolution monitor are you using ? For 1080p and most 1440p at 60hz, a 1070 will play great. I'd stick with a single stronger card over a sli setup if possible. Hope this helps. |
