Hi, i need help on configuring a new gaming rig. The computer will only be gaming and i have a budget of $3000-$3500, of course if it turns out lower then the budget it be great, but if not I still love it. I'm debating between the ATI HD5970 2GB or GTX 480 1.5GB as for motherboard I was thinking either EVGA x58 classified or the ASUS rampage III extreme. As for cooling I was thinking about water cooling, but not so sure which one would be good enough. I need space for a additional graphics card, because i plan on purchasing a new on by Christmas either a additional gtx480 or ATI 5970

This is what i had in mind Saved Ticket Number: 434618 or 434620 , but since it my first time building a custom pc i thought it be best to ask for some help.

Thanks in advance

Oh and I forgot to add I want something future proof at least for the next 1-2 years. Oh and if it helps my monitor resolution is 1680 x 1050 its a 22' hp monitor. I want to be able to play my games in max setting.

Thanks in advance

Try this ticket number: 434632

you had a lot of uneeded things on that build. Also if you're gaming at 1680x1050 you should be good to go for a while with 1 vid for a while.

Read the guide that is stickied at the top of the configuration forum. It will answer so much for you.

Otherwise, the pros will be along shortly to answer your questions.

thanks for the help guys but you think it be good enough? and future proof? and i wanna add during summer my rooms like a baking oven, so I'm pretty worried about the components. Oh and for the case would you guys recommend the haf x or the haf 932? I myself like the haf x more because of the red lights.... i hate blue I'm sorry... and i thought if i added what games i played it might help, i play WoW, SC2, L4D2, COD MW2, will try out FF XIV, and I play Sims 3 when I'm bored to death.

well the lights and the trim paint can be changed to whatever you want. both the haf 932 and x come all black with 1 red led fan in the bottom front

as far as temps, unfortunately the enviornment is just as important as the hardware cooling, if you have to choose, spend the money on good AC year round over a liquid cooler, both air and liquid cooling depend on the surrounding air temps to cool

between the two cases, just choose whichever you like, the differences are marginal

i read your sticky i like your last build :D so the air 1 fan from your build would be good enough for my cooling in the case right? oh and i have a ac :D so with that build i should be fine? and for future upgrade within that case i should be all good?
