Budget:
Approx. ~1000 US Dollars, give or take depending on your arguments or how well you can convince me I should spend extra! Usage: ~2 hours per day, pretty much just for gaming. Mostly play Path of Exile. Maybe more when I have time off. I don't use it for editing or anything work-related like CAD or video stuff. Special Needs: Prefer something that isn't super colorful looking- I am not a huge fan of crazy bright LEDs- something plain and black would be great. If I have to have some color, that's ok, though! Specifications: -I want the best graphics card I can buy that will give me 3-5 years of good usage. -I want something I can potentially upgrade down the road -I would like a Wi-Fi adapter, but don't know what one to get! I just need something that will connect to the Wi-Fi at my house... whatever that means. -I don't need any extra space or a super crazy harddrive as far as I know. Won't be storing a ton of stuff on here. So my main questions- what do I want to upgrade in my config? Should I upgrade the graphics card to a 1060 for another 135 dollars or so? Should I get one higher than that? What do I want!? Thank you so much for any help or insight. I've heard good things about Digital Storm which is why I am hoping to buy my computer here. Thanks! Also, what should I go with- the I5 processor or the I7? Do I need an I7 or will I be just fine with the I5? Could I get a better graphics card if I save money by going with the I5 processor?

Welcome to the forums. You didn't mention monitor resolution, the single most important info needed to pick the right graphics card.
If it's a 1080p, then I wouldn't recommend anything less than the gtx 1060. Big increase over the 1050ti. Pick whatever Pcie WIFI card that fits your budget. They all work. For your budget not a lot of wiggle room, so the level 1 Vanquish with the gtx 1060 will give you some very good gaming. In 2-3 years upgrading to a new video card is easy and keep you gaming for while longer. Hope this helps no good luck. |

The i5 processor , for gaming, will work, gaming not using the hyperthreading.
The i7 HT will help with a lot of day to day tasks, although not huge, but it also has a faster base and especially Turbo clock speed which does help in gaming. I7 if you can. |

Great, thank you! So maybe I just need to select the Level 1 Vanquish 5 and then upgrade the graphics card to the Gtx 1060, add a Wi-Fi adapter, and I'm good to go?
Thanks man I really appreciate the help- can't wait to order this thing. Edited by ck5313 - 27 Dec 2016 at 12:32pm |

If you'll be online gaming, I would select the internal PCIE wifi card over the USB dongle. I have the USB dongle for another pc, but just web surfing, etc. Either work, but the internal card works better from what I have read. No personal experience.
The rest of your config will game with little problem unless you get into some of the more demanding shooters and Witcher 3 types. Then turning down settings gets you by. |

Great- thanks- I am getting close to submitting my order form. I notice that with this config there is no option to upgrade RAM- does this mean that 8 GB is the max for this computer? Or can I add more later? I notice the level 2-3-4's all have the option of adding more RAM. Thanks!

The h110 mobo only has 2x DIMM slots vs 4 with z170. The h110 can, I think, go to 16gb ram, but you'd need to swap the 2x4gb to 2x8gb. Not sure why they don't offer it. Probably just marketing, where most in this category don't need it so they prebuild with 8gb, but that's a gues..
