so i want a 1440p monitor to go with my new intel i7 skylake and GTX 980 Ti.

I currently have a 1920x1080 60Hz ASUS monitor from 2009, it still works well surprisingly. however its funny that i can tell how slow the monitor is, because with the computer I bought for $2400, it should not even be blinking or pausing to load things. Diablo 3 seems sluggish sometimes, idk if its just me feeling impatient or what.

I'm zoning in on the Acer xb270HU for $800 (or a refurbished version for $690)

or the ASUS equivalent of that, which I heard is coming out this month for $800.

Should i just buy the Acer now, or wait for the ASUS? suggestions?

that Acer 1440p IPS is a really well-reviewed model.  the few complaints had to do with Acer's reputation for poor build quality.  Asus has always had a better rep in that regard.  it's really up to you.  get what's awesome right now or wait for what might be...

or maybe i could buy the Acer now, and if the ASUS model is released within 30 days, i could return the Acer model and get a full refund and go and buy the ASUS :D

I suppose I could get the ASUS ROG swift for a couple hundred dollars less, only downside is its not IPS panel. but then i would have an ASUS monitor, ASUS video card, and ASUS motherboard, What would be cooler than that? lol
