Topic: New Build Help Posted: 17 Nov 2016 at 2:11pm |
Hey all,
New here on this forum so I have some questions about my new build. Here is something that been bugging me a bit... Motherboard: ASUS Z-170 Pro Gaming Case Fans: Upgraded to the Corsair performance fans (Blue) Now this is the Level 2 Apollo system, which I assume comes with 3 case fans from the pictures. I just need to know whether or not I can manually control the fan speed of the case fans WITHOUT the DS Thermal management board and software. Thanks for any help! |

You don't need their software. The Apollo case , Corsair 760T, has a 2 stage fan control that the case fans plug into. You can use that, which probably doesn't do much, or you can unplug the fans from the fan control, just pop off the right side cover, and plug the connectors into the motherboard fan headers. Then you can use Bios or the Asus software or a 3rd party software to control them

Riiight okay I see...And where is this 2 stage fan control located exactly? Oh and are the motherboard fan headers on the front side or back side of the mobo?

The fan control is on the case's front I/o panel, where the USB, audio and power button are.
The fan headers are on the components side, where the video card, etc are. Easy to get at. Your mobo manual will have a diagram showing them. |

Oh yeah right will that 2 stage fan controller on the front panel of the case work on the Corsair LED Airflow Performance edition fans? I selected that option rather than the standard fans and just wanted to know if those were compatible ?

Yes, as long as they plug the fans into the fan control, which they will.

Bprat22 my dude you're awesome! All this time I was worried my motherboard wouldn't be able to handle all the fans. Thanks for helping me out with all and calming me down a bit haha!

You're welcome.
I think the fan control itself is rated for 4 fans. |
