You didn't mention the monitor resolution you'll be using, but for a single 1080p the Apollo lvl 3, Slade lvl 3 or Velox lvl 2 are a good starting point for an i7-4790k cpu. The gtx 970 or 980 will give excellent gaming. 970 is the best for the money and the 980 will be about 10-15% better frames. The 980Ti is even faster but with its added vram is more for higher resolution but is faster at all levels.
Its all about the budget. Hope this helps. Aventum 3 is a summer launch is all the info so far. DS keeps the info close for competitiveness. Edited by bprat22 - 07 Jun 2015 at 2:47am |

I tried to put a config together to show you but the site isn't Kindle friendly and just sat there spinning the busy symbol.
Basically, for $2575, its the Apollo with 4790k, Sabertooth mobo for its 5 year warranty and reliability, EVGA 750 Supernova for the same reason and the Pro 256gb SSD. For Hdd, the Western Digital Black is also very good. The price includes the 980 and some internal lighting for a little eye candy. Good luck. |

Any opinions of putting HydroLux Level one cooling in my build?
I do plan on upgrading the Apollo with an additional GTX 980 Ti so I'd like to know the capabilities of the HydroLux Cooling. |

Hi hromeMax,
The HydroLux level one is just for the CPU. The cost is $524 and that is a bunch of bucks. The HydroLux cooling uses top equipment and includes quick dis-connects allowing easy maintenance or mods. I think you will see an improvement in temps but I doubt it will be very much over the closed loop Corsair H110i GT - 280mm Radiator system. You will have to decide if the cost is worth while. Another option is the Swiftech H240 cooler that is a semi-closed loop and the tubes are replaceable. This units have very good cooling and the reservoir and pump are mounted on the radiator instead of at the CPU. Digital Storm is currently using the Swiftech unit on some Bolt builds. The problem with the Swiftech is they are really in short supply. Swiftech has been out of some models for a while. So availability will be a problem. The Swiftech coolers are not listed on the configurator for the Apollo or other computers at this time except for the Bolt. Even the Bolt has it back ordered. Furthermore, should I get a Bolt 3 or an Apollo? At this point I'm not really sure what's practical for me...

It's a personal choice. The Bolt is great if space is an issue. The Apollo is a bigger case, can handle two video cards in sli, which might not matter to you, and is easier to upgrade and work on.
It can come down to looks. If you have the space, go Apollo in my opinion. If you're tired of larger full size cases, go Bolt. Your choice. |

The case selection is up to you, but neither the Bolt, Apollo or Aventum are stronger performers than the other. Its the components like graphics card, ram, etc that will decide that. Similar components will all game the same. The case just holds the parts.

I am aware of that, however, I do know that the Aventum 3' cooling system will be more advanced than the other two. What I'm asking is whether or not I should wait for that superior cooling as I plan on upgrading it :3 |

Hi ChromeMax,
The liquid cooling in the Aventum 3 is not going to give much better liquid cooling than in the Apollo or Velox, with the same number of radiators. The advantage of the Aventum 3 liquid cooling is in its application. It is designed to allow the customer to add more GPUs and simply modify the cooling loop/loops. Most owners who own Aventum 1 or 2 send the units back to DS to add new or more GPUs. With the Aventum 3 anyone with very little knowledge will be able to do the changes at home. I don't mean to say that the design of the Aventum case is not special. It allows many more combinations of radiator configurations. The case has the bottom rads so out side air blows threw the rads into a compartment that exits warm air out the back of the case. This is a unique design and the best way to handle rads for the best cooling. The Apollo and other cases don't have this feature. The Aventum is a fantastic case made even better with the new plumbing setup. Frank |

After looking at your original post, I don't think waiting is a good idea because of the budget you've listed. The Aventum II starts at over $4K and DS has said the Aventum III will include a price increase. |

Hi ChromeMax,
Snaike is right on target. You will have to at least double your budget for an Aventum III, maybe more based on your CPU and GPU choices. Frank Edited by FrankW - 14 Jun 2015 at 12:42pm |

Alright then guys. But even though I might not be able to afford the Aventum 3, I still don't want to purchase anything before it's release date. Thanks for all the help guys.

Hi ChromeMax,
That is an interesting build. I don't see where you told us your monitor resolution. So I am going to assume that it is 1080 and the computer is strictly for gaming. Here is a list of comments about your build. 1. The 4690 CPU is good for gaming. The 4790 is a better choice overall but if you are budget restricted then stick with the 4690. 2. Eight MB of memory is good for gaming. Most people get 16MB but currently not needed for gaming. If you find you need more memory it is an easy upgrade. 3. The Samsung 850 EVO is a good SSD. The 850 Pro is a better choice. If you are budget restricted stick with the EVO. You can get the 256Gb 850 Pro for $48. 4. Change the 1Tb Segate to the 1Tb WD black for $19. 5. I am confused by the RAID option. Not sure why you have picked this option. If this is something you really want you need to buy at least two more HDDs to complete the Raid Array. 6. Your choice of the GTX 970 is also confusing. You are sacrificing performance with the 970 and putting money in liquid cooling, RAID, Fan control and lights. It is nice to have good looks but performance usually comes first. I would raise my budget or make other changes in order to buy a GTX 980. Or, you could go with SLI 970's. This is a matter of personal preference but I hate to see you sacrifice gaming performance unless it is a serious budget consideration. 7. The noise package doesn't do a lot for the Apollo with the huge window on the side. You can tune your own fans. If you just got to have this option then go for the fan only option instead of the noise Damping. If noise is a problem then go with the Slade case. Frank Edited by FrankW - 18 Jun 2015 at 5:27am |

Not because I put it together, but I like the build I showed you better, for the same reasons Frank just mentioned. A stronger cpu, video card, more ram, better drives and a motherboard with longer warranty because of its quality.
But, if water cooling is something you want, either for the looks, the experience or just for no reason other than you want it, then go for it. I would get the best components first then see what money is left over for water. Everyone to their own. |

For most of the options I had chosen were glitched out or something as I did not choose noise reduction or the RAID Option... I chose the 980 TI Strix as my GPU and a Samsung 850 PRO 256 GB SSD Card. Sorry for the confusion. |

I don't see the GTX 980Ti Strix Edition listed on the Apollo configurator. If you want the Strix Edition you might have to order it. The configurator does list a GTX 980Ti, just not the Strix. The GTX 980Ti is a really good choice.
