Topic: New gaming rig Posted: 24 Nov 2017 at 8:09am |
Hello,
I plan to purchase a gaming rig today and have questions concerning overlocking the CPU. I'm looking at the i7-8700K (6-Core) 3.70GHz. I'm considering having it OC'ed to 5.0. Can overclocking greatly shorten lifespan of the cpu as well as other items? Is overclocking a good choice since I normally use a computer for 3-5 years before replacing. Does overclocking void warranties on items such as video cards? Appreciate any help. AJ |

Oc is about few things one thing is vcore (core voltage) if this is high it will kill cpu quickly. 5.0 you won't get or if you do the vcore will be too high.
We recommend you give it a light oc yourself and end up with better oc settings. Ds gives you warranty with oc but parts themselves won't, you ds part warranty is only 1 year. Ocing cpu has nothing to do with gpu. List your system let us have a look |
