Budget:
$1500 Expectations: [Stable, long life, trouble free] Usage: [Personal (non commercial) video editing with content from old 8mm tapes to smart phone clips. DSLR RAW photo editing. No gaming] Special Needs: [SSD for programs (250 GB) and 4 TB HDD for storage] Saved Ticket #: [Please Type Here] Specifications: [I'm working with a 6.5 year old custom built first generation I7 Sandybridge, GeForce GTX 560 Ti and 16 GB of RAM. I want another 6-7 years so I'm thinking current generation I5 or I7 or AMD equivalents with something in the neighborhood of a GTX 1050 or 1060 video card.] So overkill, just about right or not enough? Appreciate constructive comments and suggestions. Edited by jcmainman48 - 06 Apr 2018 at 9:23pm |

For the budget the Vanquish level 3, Best, is my suggestion. It has the strong gtx 1060, excellent Intel 8700 and good storage.
The level 2 might also work, but the Ryzen 1600 has a lower Turbo clock speed. Ryzen is a less expensive cpu however. Depends how much the cpu is utilized. Editing usually likes faster clock speeds, like most applications. The SSD fits your requirements but the HDD is less than you specified, but adding another drive is easy enough if ever needed. Hope this helps. Edited by bprat22 - 07 Apr 2018 at 2:20am |
