Welcome to the forums...

What resolution will you be gaming at? 1080? 4K? This is one of the biggest determinations of capabilities for the configuration gurus.

Like Snaike said, your monitor determines the video card.   If it's a typical 1920x1080 monitor then your build with the gtx 1060 will game very well.    That card is a little stronger than my gtx 970 and my card is starting to need games running at High settings and not Max, like Prey.    Still looks great, though.

The gtx 1070 is more money but is a much stronger card if you can swing it.

I would add the CD option under Recovery options.   If the drive goes belly-up, you'll want the CD to boot to.

To answer your other thread, the 16 gb ram is plenty.    Most games still only need 8gb.

No stupid questions here.  It's all good.

There was a time the i5 cpu for strictly gaming was all you needed.  Now, the i7-7700k with its faster clock speeds and hyper-threading show a 20% gain with some games and very little with others.  As time goes on I believe the 7700k will be worth it, especially with upgrades to a newer graphics card in the future the added clock will help with bottle-necking in the future,   Bottle-necking isn't usually all that, but everything helps.

Go i7 if possible.  If not, the i5 will serve you well for gaming.  Big%20Smile
