Man ..

I have been having some odd problems lately.
Recently I have switched routers and since then I have been using Wifi because when I connect by Ethernet cord and it seems like it knows its there, but it doesn't connect?

Anyone willing to provide steps I can try when I get home from work today?

Really Appreciate it,

There are probable causes of an ethernet problem but the common is caused by a network issue or a cable or hardware issue and other antivirus or firewall. You may check all of those I mentioned to find a better solution.

I feel your pain.. I went through this for awhile and was certain that it was the computer malfunctioning.

I called the cable/ISP company and they came out, changed the router, and it was all good.

Good luck!

As Snaike mentioned it can be your router, if you can first try a different Ethernet cord from pc to router, if that does not work next try connecting the lan to a different computer with the new Ethernet cord and if there is still the same issue on the new pc/laptop then it is the router.

that is assuming your router is properly setup.
