First off i apologize if im in the wrong section! Please relocate or guide me in the right direction if needed!

But i i may have jumped the gun and am asking these queations a bit late. Last tuesday i ordered a Vanquish 5 "better". I upgraded the system memory to 16GB DDR4 2666MHz and got a sound blaster z( i am
A sound buff and wanted the most out of my astro a40s)

Well i was wondering if anybody could chime in on what level of performance i could expect? I know it will be night and day vs anything ive ever played on but again total newb here. Also should i have gotten it overclocked or is the standard turbo boost enough? Is that something they could do with remote access later on? Any advice or suggestions is welcome and regardless im excited on this next step.

Fyi computer will be mostly gaming. Obviously some web browsing and maybe a few go pro edits here and there nothing major.

Thanks again!!

Hi jmegt....That's a good build. A lot depends on your monitor resolution and what ggame settings you want.

Overclocking is nice but isn't a huge deal. I like it but if budget is tight I'd put the money elsewhere, like to a gtx 1070. The gtx 1060 will give you decent gaming, not all maxed, on a 1080p monitor.   It's a strong card.

For a tight budget, I'd have suggested dropping to 8gb ram, all you need for gaming, and put the money into the gtx 1070. A stronger card for the more intense games and more longevity as games get more demanding.

The gtx 1060 compares to mt gtx 970. My 970 plays very good on my 1080p but some settings need to be tweaked. Still looks good and all I need, but some want max everything.

To overclock, you'd need to select the 6700K CPU. The non K 6700 can't be overclocked.

Hope this helps.

Sounds good.

Another option is to call them to change the video card if you want.   If they haven't got too far along they might do it for no additional cost for a change, other than the card of course.    They are a boutique builder. Better than buying two graphics cards. But, the gtx 1060 is a nice card and will probably give you all you need.

Good luck.

Also as for the recommended memory, 8 gigs is starting to become to minimum spec line. Games like BF1 are starting to recommend 16 gigs.
