3.6GHz - 4GHz? -.- very hard to tell you without any info since you could have an amazing ambient and airflow or you could have very sh*tty.

I have everything standard as far as the heatsink...what would give me an amazing ambient and airflow?  I am going to be gaming, so I will probably want to OC it to at least 3.6

My mobo is the 680i LT SLI and I have the Antec 900 case with the 750 Corsair PSU

Why would you NOT get an aftermaket heatsink?  They are worth it.  Also are you running SLI or crossfire?  I have my E8400 at a small OC @ 3.4 with temps hanging around 50(while palying games).  After increasing my CPU fan to 100% (from the BIOS) its running a lot lower now.   You may want to try going to your BIOS and changing to manual settings.

I was already over my budget.  I understood that a heatsink/fan is important but I didn't realize how easy it was to OC the E8400.  Now that I plan on OC'ing it, I wanted to make sure if I did that I wouldn't melt my processor/MOBO.  I have a Zalman 9500 heatsink just sitting around.  I suppose I can get that installed after I receive my desktop.  But it is big, along with the GTX 260 being in there, I am not sure if it will fit.  Is there a possibility I could send my heatsink to DS and have them install it?  I know there will be a charge.  Only reason I didn't upgrade the stock heatsink/fan is because it was another $50 at least to get something better.

I have the same case and yes it will be a tight fight, but (at least for me) its worth it since I got SLI.
