Hi. I am running Windows 7, 64bit and have 16GB of RAM. I am noticing that Windows has recommended a pagefile of 24GB but currently has it set at 16GB.

My question: Isn't that an awful lot of space being used when I have 16GB of RAM? I've seen pagefiles of 8GB or even 10GB but recommended 24GB and set at 16GB?  Any suggestions if this seems high and maybe what I should lower it to? I have limited space on my SSD so I don't like to think of 16GB, let alone 24GB being used.

Thanks.

Depends what kind of multi tasking you're doing and what ram the OS is using for the temp files for minimized files, etc. I would think the 16gb would be fine but depends what you're doing.

Try using CCLeaner to clean up any files clogging your system.   Run Malwarebytes to eliminate any unwanted tasks running.

Bottom line in my opinion, is that if all your tasks are running fine with no slow downs with Windows looking for ram then just leave it as it is.
