Hello,

I have had my digital storm for many years now with no problems.   Yesterday was finally the day. My computer will not power on due to " power surge USB".   Then states the comp will shut down in fifteen seconds.   I search the Internet and tried unplugging a few USB that I can ...stills shut down. I unplugged the power cord and tried to reset the power, by draining any residual power ...still shuts down due to USB power surge .   There is a small red light that is lite up by my USB ports ( with a lighting bolt)....does anyone have any other suggestions to reset the power surge? Or do you think my power unit is done and the power surge was its final act?

Thanks for the help and have a great day.

I would unplug anything plugged into a USB, including mouse, etc and see if it powers up.

Internally, check anything plugged into the motherboard USB ports, like front panel USB cable, any usb hub, a DS thermal control board, Corsair Link.....

Could be the motherboard .

I think you might still need the keyboard plugged in...it usually seeks out a keyboard early in the boot sequence and may throw an error if no keyboard is detected. Not sure if that is still the case, though, as there are a lot of on-screen keyboards and such, nowadays.
