I have bought a new PSU in March 2016 for my system Corsair HX1000i
Yesterday my system starting to shut down and reboot (keeps rebooting at random times).

Message was Surge protection
My Voltage V 3.3 dropped down to V 2.864

I have checked the reading with software and Bios both reading the same thing.

Question do I need to replace my PSU ?
Power regulator defective ?

It does sound like the psu, but..

Try plugging your rig directly into a wall outlet, bypassing your surge protector.

Remove the video card, or at least unplug its power connectors if under water, and try it.

Reseat all the plugs to the motherboard and drives.

Unplug your drives to see if it helps. If it's random, this might not help.

Reseat the ram.

Asus surge protection is usually not a surge, but the mobo detecting faulty voltage levels, dirty voltage so to speak.

If this is a modular unit, reseat the plugs at the psu.

If you still have your old psu, and it's good, try it.

Let us know.

Thanks for your help

I have shut down the system checked all connection, reseated them.Unplugged my Video card and plugged it back in.Removed one redundant not in uses cable.

Rebooted and the V3.3 has reset itself to a steady V3.248
Seems all's well now, will keep my eye on it for a while.

THX again

That seems too easy a fix.    Kidding, you might've got lucky.

The voltage is right on, and those low logic voltages don't take much to mess up.

Fingers crossed.

I have been monitoring it for 24 hours.
Done a stress test and it is rock solid at V3.248

THX again

Looks like a connection not quite tight enough did it.   Good fix.

Just an FYI...the voltages should be within 5% , especially the logic 3.3 and 5 volt. After that they "drop".

That is a top tier psu and a lot less likely to cause such problems as the entry builders series.

Thanks for the feedback.
