Budget:

1000-1300

Expectations:

I'd like something that can run the few games I care about without lag at or as close to 60 fps on high-ish settings.

Usage:

Heavy gaming. Mostly Heroes of the Storm, World of Warcraft, Path of Exile. Possibly Star Wars: Battlefront, but not buying a rig based around that. Nothing too crazy. :) Don't want anything overheating and having issues when I play all day though.

Special Needs:

None really. Just a machine to run a few games well

Would the Vanquish 4 level 2 fulfill my needs? Or do I need something higher up? Thanks for any feedback and help! I really am clueless as to what cards/processors run which game and how well :P

if you want to make sure you cover all the bases for 1080p, max settings, at good/enjoyable minimum frames per second, you're gonna need a system with a GTX 970 (or comparable AMD card like the 290) in it.  everything else in the Vanquish L2 is fine for what you want to do.  now if you're willing to lower some settings and/or live with frames being dropped or fps dipping into what i'd consider "annoying" or "unpleasant" (depending on the specific game) then a 960 is fine.

The only reason to buy the level two is budget. If that is all you can afford then go for it. Everything about the level 3 is better than the level 2. Better Motherboard, better memory, better CPU, better GPU, better Power Supply and twice the size of the SSD. It makes no sense to buy the level 2 unless you just can't swing the level 3.

I agree with the others.....The level 2 will game pretty good and probably make you happy for now, but the level 3  is definitely worth the extra $250.   The gtx 970 alone is about 50% faster frames in gaming than the gtx 960.   .

Money is always the deciding factor in the end, so the level 2 will play what you  want but the level 3 is so much faster and more longevity.

Good luck. Big%20Smile

Thanks for the answers. I can definitely get the level 3. And I'm not one who NEEDS everything on ultra or max settings etc. High is fine for me :)

Anyone know about how well the level 3 vanquish would run Star Wars Battlefront? NOT ultra settings on everything. Thanks if you have any estimate :)

with 8 more gigs of ram you will exceed the recommended system reqs.  as it is, you should be fine on medium-high settings in general.
