Hey guys I am hoping you can put me on the right track here. I was going to install the HWMonitor update and it did not seem to want to overwrite the older version but have both installed.

After playing around for awhile with no joy I decided to completely remove it. I cannot find it in programs and features to remove it from there and when I tracked down the program location it does not have an uninstaller built in either.

Looking on the web I can't seem to get past people that want to sell or install their uninstall programs...There has to be a way to, if nothing else, go line by line and delete it that way.

Any suggestions?

Could you do a search for HWMonitor.exe?

If it is a shortcut, then use Properties to find the location of the actual .exe program and delete that?

My HWMonitor came with an uninstall program.

Go to Programs and Features in Control panel , or by right clicking lower left Windows10 search and its listed as CPUID HWMONITOR.

I haven't used CCleaner's uninstall utility, so it might be just as good or better, but Revo Uninstaller - the free version - will let you find pieces of a program at the registry level and clear them out.

Your folder for it is either under

C:\Program Files (x86)\cpuid\hwmonitor or

C:\Program Files\cpuid\hwmonitor

the (x86) is your 32bit folder and the other is your 64bit, depending on which version you installed is where you will find its folder.

Thanks for the replies and tips all!

I found the actual .exe early on, I just wanted to make sure I got all of the registry entries and any other hidden bits as well.
