HI Friends,
My Equinox just hit stage 6 as of 6/25/2018, i'm hoping it makes it to stage 7 today and gets shipped. I'm literally less than 7 hours from DS HQ and hoping to get it possibly Friday, if not no big deal. just would be nice to upgrade my out dated work laptop to a new one. Any ways, once this laptop is delivered I will do a thorough review for anyone who is thinking about it, but is hesitant to pull the trigger. reason for purchase: Slim Design Decent CPU and GPU for my work I do a lot of 3D Scanning and Design Mobility for said 3D Scanning, so I can scan outside of the office. Mobility for when I travel I can finally play games at work again (lol) I'll most likely update this thread with a full review, rather than making a new one. Regards, Alex S. |

If you'll excuse my inquisitiveness, what are you working on? I'm a bit of a car nut myself. Have a few in the garage.

nothing crazy, currently i'm using my s2000 (stroked .2L over track car) as a daily since my E90 M3 (LCI) is currently getting rod bearing, and major maintenance done. so i'm waiting for the new rod bearings to come back from WPC coating, as I've already finished replacing the water pump. |

NICE! That's a winner. Had a neighbor that raced for BMW. I went on a road ourse once and got carsick. Drove a 575M. Never did that again. Sold it. Now I just drive what I have left once in a while. Enjoy and be safe.

I am getting too old to enjoy the horses. Just keeping for the next generation unless they start arguing about them.

I guess something in my laptop must have broke if it hasn't passed QA Stage 6 after 6 business days. LOL. would be nice to get some updates. after it has passed the estimate time.

Way better to have issues while at DS than find them yourself upon receipt and use of the system. One of the reasons we are all here. DS wants you to receive a working pc. Your next DS notice might be you shipping details. Keep fingers crossed. Hope you get your rods and can get going in that project. Keep us posted.

That "too old" stuff mostly in your head youngster! Just round-tripped from Tampa Bay to Chi-town in five days flat. Love the road still.

Couldn't help but see you drive an S2K. This was my baby. 2008 S2K. 32,000 miles when I sold him. And this was me on track day. Traded him in for a 2017 Ridgeline.
Welcome to DS. |

i actually almost bought a rio yellow AP2. but i got a sick deal on a 00' AP1 only had 80k miles and i got it for 6k lol. i should have turned around and flipped it for 10k easily. but i prefer my 00' AP1 over the AP2s due to fun factor. From my understanding, anyone who owns an s2k eventually gets another one... |

Very soon. Did you get the rods? And BTW, calling DS is never considered annoying. They really want us to be happy. It is an old school (20th Century) concept. |

just got my laptop, did my preliminary check while i was on lunch.
made sure everything worked and nothing was loose.. made sure the laptop didn't have any hiccups on start up and shut down. will do thorough testing this month. also will be using a cooling pad to help keep temps down. i'm very happy there is plenty of ventilation for cooling on the rear and underneath. |
