I've been reading a lot about how expensive SSD's are, but how incredibly fast and awesome they are. And it seems like a good build would involve having an SSD for the primary drive and an HD for a secondary drive.
If I get a 120GB SSD drive and install the operating system on it. Then can I use a second hard drive...say the 1 TB Western Digital drive to install other things on? or just use it for storage (music, videos, files)... Would I want to install games on the SSD drive and therefore take advantage of it's read/write speeds?...but 120 GB is not that much. Or does the read/write speeds of the SSD not really effect the fps of a game while it's running? Can someone help me figure this out? Thanks |

you would install the OS + games you play most on the SSD. Vids, songs, useless crap you use your TB.
For me, I install windows 7 + diablo 3 + starcraft 2 on it, and browsers, everything else on 1 TB |

Yes. The desktop shortcut would have it's target/ path to the HDD.

Well technically it did. It had 1 partition which was the main partition. Partitions are segments of space, like one big building being full of apartments, where each apartment is a partition. Apartment A being the "A Drive", Apartment B, being the "B drive" and do on. The data in the partitions being the residents. Tada, partitions made simple. |
