1) I always just assumed that the optical drives offer were IDE drives. Is this true?
2) Are the versions of XP and Vista offered OEM or retail?

1) To a certain extent. You can get SATA optical drives. As or right now, our Lightscribe DVD-RW drives are SATA optical drives. The rest are IDE.
2) They are OEM. You will still receive a original Windows installation CD.

Sorry! We are trying to phase IDE drives out slowly. Some builds with SATA optical drives have been causing issues with our install kits.

It's mainly with our special network install setup we have. It's not with basic OS installs.

You're welcome, when we try to Install Windows from our Network Shares, the system will give a Blue Screen. We believe it has to do with the SATA driver and the network connection. Anyway, this issue does not affect us in any way or manner, we have already developed a fix for it.
