Topic: Upgrade questions Posted: 09 Feb 2017 at 3:10pm |
I have been putting off upgrading my pc for a while now and i think i am ready to start with my graphics card just want to make sure what i am doing will work in terms of power supply or any other compatibility issues any help is appreciated!
Current PC: CPU-I7 6700K @4.4GHZ RAM-16GB DDR4 2800MHZ GPU-GTX 970 PSU-EVGA 750W MB- ASUS Z170-K (LGA1151) I want to know if i can add this card with no issues: https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814500399&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-VigLink2-_-na-_-na-_-na&cm_sp=&AID=10446076&PID=8167422&SID=iyyzflxsli0035wt00053 (ZOTAC GeForce GTX 1080 AMP! Extreme, ZT-P10800B-10P, 8GB GDDR5X IceStorm Cooling, Metal Wraparound Carbon ExoArmor exterior, Dual-blade EKO Fan, Spectra Lighting, PowerBoost, FREEZE fan stop) Its my first time doing a graphics card swap but from what i read it looks fairly simple :) Edited by minerbros66 - 09 Feb 2017 at 3:11pm |

Should work just fine. The power supply is good to go.
Only consideration....that card is 2.5 slot wide vs 2.0 for most others. As long as you don't have another card like sound card, wifi card, etc plugged in right next to your 970 then not a problem. You would have to move the other card down a slot. |

If you don't have an SSD then that would be a noticeable upgrade. Everything else is still good and any upgrade would have little difference.
