I would like some advice about upgrading to a larger SSD. My current boot SSD is 80GB. It has Windows 7 64 bit Professional installed. I bought the PC from Digital Storm in 2010. The capacity of the drive hasn't been an issue until just recently. What is the easiest way to upgrade to a larger capacity SSD? I found this software which should make it easier. Any suggestions would be welcome.

Thank You,
Smarmy

If you can deal with it for a couple weeks, then you can get a new SSD and do a clean install of Windows 10 when the free update is available to you. Your files on your 80GB will still be accessible as a different drive letter (it will possibly automatically be designated E:\ or F:\).

Thank you for the reply. Wouldn't the Windows 10 upgrade only upgrade the drive with the OS already installed? I wouldn't think it would install it on a different drive.

You can opt for a clean install and select the drive on which it gets installed on. I'd suggest downloading the file onto a bootable USB drive, unhook all of your other storage devices except the one on which you want to install the operating system on and then install it from there.
