I have an ODE 3 system from late 2011.  This includes an ASUS P67 Sabertooth motherboard, 8 GB DDR3 1600MHz Corsair system memory, and two NVIDIA GeForce GTX 570 1.2 GB SLI'd.

I recently purchased Doom4 and found out my system can only run it on the lowest graphics settings.

What kind of a video card would I need to upgrade to, replacing my two 570's, and be able to run something like Doom4 on at least close to the highest graphics settings?

Would a $200-$300 video card be more powerful than two 570's that are 6 years old, and be able to run Doom4 at 1920 x 1080 at close to highest graphics?

Thanks!!

I play Doom 4 at Ultra settings with my gtx 970, and upgrade from a single 570.   Gtx 970 are hard to find, which is good, since the newer gtx 1060 is a better performer over the 970 by about 10-15% for cheaper.   The added vram on the newer cards vs the 1.2GB on the 570 helps a lot.  Keep in mind, even an sli 570 is still only 1.2gb vram since vram doesn't stack in sli.

My system is also circa 2011 with ODE, 2500k cpu oc to 4.4 . and 8gb ram.

A gtx 1070, if in the budget,  will be an even larger upgrade.

For the budget mentioned, the gtx 1060 runs great.

Awesome, thanks for the response.

Checked prices on the GTX 1060 and saw prices range from $200-$300, depending on VRAM and brand.  Assume you have 6GB vram vs. 3?

Any particular recommendations on brand, such as Gigabyte, EVGA, PNY, etc...?

My 970 has 4gb vram and the 1060 would be 6gb vram.  I have a MSI GTX 970 Gaming 4G card with the zero fan feature below 64C and wouldn't hesitate to get another MSI.  Asus also makes a good card and EVGA is considered the best if tech support is ever needed.
