Well my Vanquish 5 finally arrived, not in the best condition though. I'm blaming this mishap on UPS.When I opened the box I noticed that the heatsink came off of the cpu somewhere along its travels and was laying at the bottom of the pc. I called DG and was told to take pics of the box and the pcu and heatsink. I sent the pics via email and was told that someone would get in touch with me before the end of the day...they didn't, I had to call them around 6:30 EDT. I finally got in touch with Chris, but by then I had reinstalled the heatsink myself. Everything seems to be working fine except one more little detail THEY screwed up on. They sent me an LED controller with female ends, the light strip also has female ends so needless to say that doesn't work. I thought they checked ALL pc's to make sure they were working properly before they shipped... I guess they missed one....MINE!!! Not a very pleased individual this evening.

I think that is how the controller comes. but check with them.
did you use new paste and everything when you put he heatsink back? If not don't run the pc, the old thermal paste needs to be removed from both block and cpu nad new paste needs to be applied and then sit the block on cpu. If you already use new paste then never mind that sounds like a hard hit, I suspect you will find other things wrong. Edited by DST4ME - 02 Aug 2016 at 7:53pm |

Yes I cleaned off the old paste with alcohol wipes as instructed and reapplied the heatsink. One other question...are all of the fans supposed to be running? There are 5 in this pc but the 2 on the top have not run since it was turned on

If your system took a hit hard enough to fully dislodge the heatsink then its very likely that a lot more is out of position. go through and check every single connection to make sure all the cables are fully, properly seated in their sockets. As far as the lighting system goes, I have no experience with it so I cannot help you with it.
Hope you get everything running smoothly. |

Update on 2 top fans: I took off the right side cover and followed the wires from the 2 fans on the top and noticed that they were unhooked. I plugged them in and presto the fans now work. Now all I need DS to do is send me the correct LED controller and everything should be ok.

You got 45 days to send it back on ds's dime, check your system carefully and make sure all is fine.

I'm confused about your LED controller issue. Is this the box inside the PC ? I would think the LED strip plugs dorectly into the controller. But, you have it in front of you and I'm guessing.
Good luck. They'll fix you up. |

The LED controller was in a small box with all of the extra cables, books and other accessories. What the LED controller is missing are the 4 male pins that plug into the light strip
