Hello! Been doing a lot of searching, back and fourth with what company to go with for my new PC build. DigitalStorm was the choice!
I currently had an ****** *******4 and I've just been having problems left and right with this machine. So I got rid of it and yesterday ordered my first PC from here. Vanquish 7. I believe it's the level 4? I picked the Ultimate choice. I don't do any 4K gaming so this machine should last me awhile. My old build Windows 10 Home i7-4930K 16GB DDR3 RAM GTX 690 140GB SSD 1TB HDD 1TB HDD 875w Power Supply New build I ordered Windows 10 Home i7-8700K 16GB DDR4 RAM GTX 1080 240GB SSD 1TB HDD 600w Power Supply I originally was going to go with ******** but heard good things about DigitalStorm so that was my choice! Can't wait to receive the PC! Hopefully before Christmas. Removed competitor names. Edited by Snaike - 16 Nov 2017 at 8:48am |

Vanquish is always a good choice! If you've ordered it, you've got about 5 weeks to the holidays, you should have it by then.
Congrats! And welcome to the DS family. BTW, if you match exactly the forums email and your ordering email addresses, you get a neat little "Verified Customer" badge. Had to edit some names out of your post. |

Why did you edit the names out Snaike? We know Digital Storm is better than everyone else. So, there is no shame to mention their names. |

DS policy, forum posts should not contain competitor's names. Alex has explained in the past that it is actually a professional courtesy between builders. AFAIK, it has to do with search engines and what comes up when someone searches for specific companies. And yes, I agree, DS is the best. |

Questions. What brand RAM Sticks do Digial use? I'm only seeing "16GB DDR4 3000MHz Digital Storm Performance Series". I'm currently at 16GB. If I want to ugprade to more RAM in the future I can just purchase from other place or can I order the same sticks from here?
Question #2, Can I use the NVMe PCI-Express 3.0 x4 Internal Solid State Drive on my board? My board is the ASUS Prime Z370-P Edited by XSlashDashX - 16 Nov 2017 at 11:41am |

Digital Storm uses whatever brand they have in stock that passes their QC. As to upgrading, you are free to purchase from DS or from a local supplier. The best thing about DS systems is that they are not "proprietary" units, dictating what you can and cannot upgrade and/or replace.
I have a Vanquish from 3 or 4 year ago. I have upgraded the RAM and the GPU, next project is to install an additional SSD. With the DS machine there are no limitations. Not like a machine I had years ago that had a mobo specced to take ONLY certain parts. I believe that was called "planned obsolescence" and I hated it. |

1. To upgrade ram these days its best to do them in batches, as in if you have 16gb now and you want 32gb, its best to put away the 16 and start with 32gb fresh batch that match. In the old days we would just add 16gb to the current 16gb, not so much now.
The current ram brand is adata, only few companies make ram, everyone else slaps their name on it, same with psu. 2. I will double check to be sure and if not I will post but I'm sure the answer is yes. Just checked per your mobo: In short yes it does. Edited by DST4ME - 16 Nov 2017 at 12:08pm |
