That will get it done. 1080p will let you max everything for a long while to come.

Just in case you don't know, that is TN technology, so it won't have a very wide viewing angle. You may have seen other monitors where the colors fade and wash out from the side. Long as you're pretty much in front of it though, it will be bright and vibrant. That Acer is a solid brand.

The other common tech is IPS. They tend to be a little   brighter, maybe deeper in color, and they are fully viewable with little color loss from the side. They have 4-5ms response, vs 1 ms, but that's still quite good.

If you didn't have the two kinds side by side, you'd never know IPS from TN except for the viewabilty thing.
