Hello, I am looking to get a basic entry level gaming desktop. At the moment I only have budget for the Level 1 Vanquish. Can I assume that I can upgrade it later to exceed the Level 2 specs? Which leads to my next question - would it be worth it to just get the level 2 right off the bat? Thanks

Anytime you can get the next model, do it. If you have to put off the purchase to get the last little bit of funds together you'll be better off. Upgrading the Vanquish model is easy, but it comes at a price. Sometimes (as I have done) you mess up their beautiful cabling and aesthetics just to upgrade. Plus, if you are replacing perfectly functioning components you're basically buying the computer twice.
Hang in there, get your funds together to afford a machine that you're not immediately trying to upgrade. You'll enjoy it much longer. Just my outlook. |

When I got mine I was going to get a Level 1 as I didn't need anything really big, but, after reading comments in the forum, I pulled the trigger and got a Level 2. My suggestion, get the Level 2, even if you have to save for a little longer. You'll be glad you did.

Is the level 2 Vanquish capable of being a reliable dedicated streaming pc? I only stream to Twitch and sometimes YouTube. I also edit videos for YouTube. Can the level 2 get these jobs done?

Between the Ryzen 5 and the GTX 1050 Ti 4GB video card on the Level 2, that should be no problem... |

I agree with the others and trust me I don't take suggesting how people should spend THEIR money lightly - I realize everyone's income, debt, living expenses, etc. etc. is all different. But with that disclaimer of understanding out of the way. I personally think with the mindset of "If I decide I'm going in on this purchase...I'm making sure I get what I like/want right off the bat"....like others said just how my mind works. I spent several thousand on my build -- I'm not rich..not even by a long shot. BUT I'm not crazy I look at that as an investment of sorts with a mindset on MANY years of providing me the ability to engage in one of my favorite hobbies that helps me unwind from life's many worries and stresses.

I once created a joke about the Digital Storm buying process. It goes something like this:
-My budget is $1000 and it's not going one penny higher 10 minutes later -Wait, if I spend $200 more, I can get an even better GPU. Then, I could run future games smoothly without having to upgrade. Totally going with the better GPU 30 minutes later -Liquid cooling can allow me to get an awesome overclock for my cpu. I really do want to run everything on maximum capacity, so it's definitely a good investment. A couple hundred bucks won't hurt that much. Purchase -What!?!? I spent $400 over my limit. If I spent that much on the computer, I have to get a decent monitor and mouse. $200 later The funny thing about this joke is that it ended up happening to me Edited by Batman34 - 18 Jun 2018 at 4:11pm |

So I bought the level 2. I figured this machine will last me a good 3-5 years before needing to upgrade.

I purchased the Vanquish level 1 as a dedicated streaming PC for my xbox one x gameplay. Does anyone know if the level 1 will be good enough for this, or did I dun goof? |

The two most essential differences are the SSD for your primary drive and the 1050 Ti. These are arguably the first upgrades you'd want, and now you have them right from go! They are going to make a big difference in your enjoyment of your system. Congrats, and happy gaming!
