Any suggestions on how to choose the motherboard would be appreciated. I'm considering a Velox with:

* Core i7-7820X, 4.5GHz overlock
* 32GB DDR4 3200MHz Corsair Dominator Platinum DHX
* GeForce GTX 1080 Ti 11GB

My needs:

* FPS gaming
* CPU virtualization (Hyper-V): must have BIOS option for this

I was happy with my previous Velox with the Asus X99-A, and would probably want to stick with Asus if possible. I'm considering the ASUS ROG RAMPAGE VI APEX.

Thanks!

I would think the rampage would support CPU virtualization, but it's not listed in the manual. In my X99-A manual it's listed under "CPU Configuration" - Intel Virtualization Technology (Enabled/Disabled). Can't find this in the rampage manual. Could be they left it out as it depends on the CPU.

Anyone know how this would work in the rampage?

Thanks.

Well first Becareful with relying on a company based on 1 product, if you needed asus customer service, yiu would be saying something very different about asus.

Having said that you are going about this the wrong way.

For gaming you start with the monitor, monitor is what tells us what mobo/psu/gpu to pick.

Virtualization is dependent on cpu and os, i have not heard these types of mobo not support virtualization.
