Not strictly talking about what DS will have in stock, but which brand+model of the 1070 non referenced do you hope to have? i saw some has asked about MSI , but i thought MSI has poorer quality?
thanks! |

MSI has pretty good quality, especially in their Lightning and Gaming cards. I'd put the Lightning up with the EVGA K|ngP|n and Classified cards in terms of top-notch quality.
EVGA has the best customer service. And as far as design for lower end cards, where you're not pumping into the GPU as much power as you possibly can, I would say their ACX cooling solution is the best. Asus has a good automated construction process for the high-end cards. But their customer service is lacking. Even though voiding warranties from replacing the cooler is illegal, most all of the vendors, with exception to EVGA, will give you a very hard time. The only downside to EVGA is that they have been doing extensive binning of the GPUs, so if you want one that will overclock well, you will need to pay $$$$ for it. However, it seems as though Nvidia has preempted this by doing this themselves with the Founders Edition cards. Alex has noted that DS has seen this as well, so this is believable. The best option, if you want a card that overclocks well will be an EVGA Founders Edition card (all Founder Edition cards are not manufactured by the vendors, but an ODM upstream in the supply chain, so build quality is the same, and the vendors just brand and support the card). oh wow i thought founders were produced directly from nvidia...
I'm just wondering if i don't want to OC the card and not going to be LC cooling the card, is it worth it to wait + potentially pay extra for the MSI or asus strix (3 fans on the card lol).. |

Well, an ODM for Nvidia with the Founders Edition. Nvidia has Asian manufacturers do all of the components and assembly for them.
As long as there is adequate cooling, any cooler will work. I like the EVGA cooling solution, but the aesthetics may matter more for others. Noise is another option to consider, so those coolers with larger fans will spin slower and be quieter overall. Just make sure you have enough airflow in the case. Otherwise, a blower-type cooler would be better, as it dispels the heat out of the back and not into the case. |

I personally like evga as if you can't tell, lol, I like the customer service, if something goes wrong and we never know, you want a company that is not gonna make you pull your hair out.
For that reason and the quality I go with evga. The evga cards here on DS are the sc version which is already oced for you, with acx 3.0 you got great cooling to go with it, so you are getting more out of your card because its factory oced and it already has great cooling on it. IF you are getting a non founders then go with evga but FO61 already put down the rest of the facts for you so you need to decide which direction you wan to go. |

We now offer the EVGA GTX 1070 with the ACX 3.0 cooler. This is NOT the SC version, if you want those speeds (if not better), then select our GPU overclocking service with the order.

Alex I thought you said the evga acx you guys had was the sc, is that just for the 1080s or are they all the regular version now?

That is just for GTX 1080. Customers can select GPU overclocking if they want an overclocked GTX 1070.

I see thank you Alex, any reason why you guys went with the sc for 1080 and not the 1070? was it cost for the customer? |
