Anyone else a bit disappointed that DS motherboards, the ones that don't cost $300+ have WiFi or Bluetooth? I'm debating whether to buy an Apollo, brand new and I'd be screwing around with it out the box.

I'm personally not disappointed because of all the options available without it built in to the mobo. I'd prefer wifi not built in, but would rather have a separate wifi plug in card, DS has some to pick from, or a USB dongle. My main gaming rig isn't wifi, but hard wired for best results.

Thank you for your input. I'm not a gamer. I just wanted a better computer than my DEll xps8700 se that just died after only 3 years. Not only did it die, but before croaking it decided to modify a whole bunch of stuff that I will have to re-modify. I'll see what's on the market. DS is a fine machine. My friend, a computer repairman has switched as few folks to Ds's direction.
As far as Bluetooth and WiFi my accessories' connectivity use both. Thanks again. |

yes, i've always been disappointed with the DS "selection" of motherboards. they heavily favor Asus for one. and they just don't offer a wide range of boards to cover everyone's needs in a config. that being said, i assume you were specifically disappointed with the Ryzen/AM4 boards offered in the lower end of the Apollo builds. to be fair, this is a fairly new launch and to be quite honest the mobo manufacturers just don't have a very broad board refinement process for this socket/chipset. i've noticed a lot of missing features from supposedly "mid tier" boards one would expect to find on previous Intel generations. good luck with your search. . i am particularly frustrated that i've never seen them offer ASRock boards period. they can special order for you, but that comes with a premium and it might just be cheaper to buy the more expensive board that they have on hand. good luck in your search.
on the bright side they do feature RGB lighting, just don't expect anything useful Edited by db188 - 19 Sep 2017 at 11:59pm |

We offer MSI motherboards that do deliver a lot of value compared to ASUS.
If you're looking for WiFi, I recommend adding a dedicated WiFi card, see image below: |
