I just upgraded from Win8.1 to Win10. Figured all the bugs would be fixed by now. (sigh)
Then could not connect to the Internet thru my Ethernet cable. This site below was a GREAT help to solve my problem. http://blog.jamesbayley.com/2016/01/03/fixed-one-or-more-network-protocols-are-missing-on-this-computer/ What saved me (I think) is that I had a WiFi USB connector. Used that to connect to the Internet. Then disconnected it. Re-connected it. Then disconnected it. Then connected my Ethernet. Again, I reset the registry 26 to Full Control, using the YouTube Video. Also did all the Command Prompt netsh commands. And I had my Ethernet back. Seems to be working fine, except that I do not have permission to see my Pictures folder. .... Hi forrest74,
When I installed Win-10 my Ethernet didn't work either. I just download the Intel driver and that fix it. Now if your motherboard has the Killer Ethernet than that could be a different story. A lot of problems with the Killer Ethernet. I don't know why motherboard manufactures think gamers want the Killer Ethernet. Frank |
