While looking at the OS options available, only the most expensive Ultimate units had the option to purchase Windows 7 Professional.

I understand that any Windows 7 machine will not come with a recovery feature, but why can't I load Windows 7 Professional on any customized machine?  Is this as simple as talking to a technician after my order?

Please don't suggest Windows 10 as the solution.

Threads dissing Windows 10 are generally not going to receive any feedback here. I only posted to to tell you you're not alone in this. I'm ready to upgrade, but I absolutely do not want Windows 10 on my system so I hold back. It's not DS's fault but the situation sucks just the same.

I understand that a Windows 7 post in a Windows 10 forum wouldn't receive a response, but this is a "Software" forum.

I don't see there being any technical hurdles as the option is clearly available on one config.

I was hoping someone from DS sales / support might see this and let me know if it is possible to request on different builds.

Your best bet is to email and ask about the OS availability. Being primarily a customer forum, reps from DS don't show regularly.
