I am getting a new system sometime between now and christmas. I cant decide if I want to go ahead and get one now or wait on the x58. So my question is this what is the real world advantage to waiting on the x 58. (I will be using the computer to play games on. My wife will be using it for picture editing, ie photoshop). Thank you for your help.

I don't know.  You always wait and there is always something better a month or two down the road.  Buy when you are ready build a solid system and dont look back.

The problem is that you will never have the FASTEST system. You could buy the best system right now with all the latest hardware and within a month it would be obsolete.

You can get a good solid build right now and by the time they work all the kinks/bugs out of the new stuff you can upgrade down the road.

its coming out next month and I'm waiting for it.

Lots of theories out right now, but its all theories, till we get it and test it, you don't really know what you will get.

its gonna be great for multi tasking, and hey say a 10% improvement over current chips for games.

I'm sure it will effect the price also.

my suggestion is to sit back, let it come-out and by December it should hopefully be out and DS should have an idea of how it does. At-least then, it would be opinions and theories
