I like to play games such as minecraft and fallout 4 on a 1080p monitor that I will replace next year.  The computer is in the living room hooked up to a good stereo system and my daughters are getting into recording and editing videos for youtube.

My budget is about $3500 but I can go higher if I need to.   I figure that I will want a Creative Sound Blaster Zx for the rca jacks, and a fair bit of ram for minecraft.

You didn't say what you are upgrading the monitor to next year? 1440p? or 4k?

Bit of info:

1. Do not install Mcafee , instead get a lighter better anti virus like ESET ( number 3 on the list ) Or any other good light Anti Virus will do.

2. With extra fans request that DS changes all case fans and connects all your fans to the mobo so you can control them via free software. This way we can control the fans without needing anything else (aka fan controller and etc).
Also be sure to pick the color of the ring you wan the fans to have (red/blu/white).

3. The warranty here is 3 year labor and 1 year parts so if you want higher part warranty be sure to raise the warranty level to the desired level.

This system comes with one 1080 but can do sli 1080, when you get the 4k monitor drop in a second 1080.

Wll the onboard audio be good?  I am using Martin Logan speakers and aDefinitive technology Trinity subwoofer.

I'm not that great in sound, but the sound on todays mobo are great.

here is the audio info on your mobo:









you can always add the audio card if you think the mobo is not good enough, most people seems to think the mobo is good tho.

Thank you for the input and the reference pictures.  I just have not been able to find out what chips, op-amps, caps or codecs that they use.  Asus gives better info out on their x99 boards.  I get antsy when asus just says flawless with an explamation piont.
I am going to do some more research on the audio side.  The ASUS X99 RAMPAGE V EDITION 10on the x99 platform does its cleanest audio off of the motherboard through a front bay / pannel and not from the motherboard outputs.. That is one of the reasons I could not use the Aventum 3.  That and I just bought a car for my wife...

For your use the old platform of x99 is pointless IMHO, its much cheaper to get a audio card if needed.


BTW why do you have "file initialization failed" as your sig? or is multiple irp complete requests?

your system code is misleading

System error code 68 is typically displayed as "ERROR_TOO_MANY_NAMES" and/or as the hexidecimal value 0x44
I had to learn hexidecimal in the NAVY so it brings back memories of looking at my balanced checkbook and realizing that I switched over to hex half way through without realizing it.  9+1=A.  The too many names has to do with I can only keep track of 1 online name.

I think I am going to get the sound blaster, I did research and I think that the extra features will be used.
