Video Game Crushes

Video Game Crushes

With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, it’s a great time to look at some of the most eligible bachelors and bachelorettes of the gaming world. This useful guide will help you find the perfect video game match!

Lara Croft (Tomb Raider Series)

She’s been breaking hearts since the first Tomb Raider game debuted back in 1996. She’s intelligent, beautiful, athletic, and witty. Oh, and not to mention, she’s got a pretty cool job—if you’re into the adventurous sort, that is. Seriously, you know you’re dealing with a hot video game character when she’s portrayed by Angelina Jolie in a film adaptation. Bonus points awarded for the English accent—it’s hard not to swoon at the sound of that.

Mario (Super Mario Series)

Ah, Mario. Who doesn’t like a guy with a sweet mustache?! So, he may not be the most attractive character on the list, but the guy as a lot going on for him. He’s been a plumber for just about 30 years, so he’s got a solid job under his belt. Plus, with all the coins he collects throughout his adventures, you know he’s financially stable. Mario is loyal to a fault—he has rescued Princess Peach for over a quarter of a century, so he’s someone that’ll always be there when you need him the most. Also, who doesn’t love an Italian accent? It’s a romance language for a reason, people!

Chun-Li (Street Fighter Series)

So you’re into tough gals, are you? If that’s the case, Chun-Li is the perfect match for you. She’s made a living of beating the crap out of anyone that stands in her way, and she’s always managed to look cute in the process. Plus, she’s got some pretty nice legs. Don’t act like you haven’t stared at them during her spinning bird kick move. At least you know you’ll always feel safe around her—if anyone gives you trouble in the movie theater, a quick dose of her lightning kick will quiet them down real fast.

Kratos (God of War Series)

What’s not to love about Kratos? He’s big, strong, brave, and willing to do anything for those he loves. Plus, the guy is a demi-god—who wouldn’t want to date someone with the powers of a god?! Considering he exacted his revenge upon the Greek gods, it’s pretty safe to say that he’d take care of anyone that ever double crossed you. Just make sure you don’t upset Kratos; he has a tiny habit of ripping people in half. He’s working on it, though.

Aerith/Aeris Gainsborough (Final Fantasy VII, Kingdom Hearts Series)

Aerith is for the person who is looking for a companion who fits the sweet, girl-next-door mold. She sells flowers and spends her time caring for a small church in the slums. Fashion wise, she’s a bit of a hipster; she wears a long dress and a pair of combat boots. On top of her sweet personality, she’s also a trendsetter, as she was dressing like this back in 1997. If you’re looking for a girl you can take to Starbucks and read poetry with, Aerith is the perfect match for you!

Link (Legend of Zelda Series)

Link is the perfect companion for the “saps” out there. You’ll swoon over his big blue eyes and blond hair, and marvel at the way in which he handles a sword! He’ll never leave you high and dry, either—he’s saved Princess Zelda countless times, so you know he’ll always remain loyal to you. Like music? Link’s proficient in playing the ocarina, flute, and harp, so he’s got all the necessary tools for a romantic serenade. Conversations may be a little dull with Link, though—he’s not exactly the talkative type. But don’t worry; he’ll show how much he loves you through his actions, not his words.

These are just a few of the many appealing video game characters out there. Which one was perfect for you? Is there anyone you think should be added to the list? Who is your number one gaming crush? Let us know in the comments section!
