Hi Guys,
Have been reading positive reviews about DS and am now deciding to take the plunge. Im a newbie when it comes to custom PC, so your input and advise will be greatly appreciated. 1. I really cant decide between the close end corsair liquid cooling and hydrolux cooling. I just dont want to end up needing to refill the liquid once a year as its not very practical for me. The reason why im even considering the hydrolux is only for looks only as im not a gamer perse. Will only use this rig for excel and very occasional gaming. 2. How often do i need to do maintenance on my hydrolux? refill? can i buy the liquid refill easily? 3. Does ASUS Z170I PRO GAMING have built in Wifi? 4. is HardLine Hydrolux Tubing more durable and flexible Tubing? 5. Should i wait for bolt 4 or Kaby lake? or dive in with Bolt 3 and skylake processor? Appreciate your input Guys!! You will need to get speakers as desktops don't produce sounds. Some monitors have speakers but they tend to be crap. |

The motherboard does have Wifi. The liquid cooling should be good for a couple of years before needing fluid.
The hardline tubing looks great, but it isn't flexible, meaning if you ever have to poke around inside, reseating the video card or ram, it will be harder to get things done. I would stick with the flexible. That build looks good. |

Thanks for the input Guys!
So taking everything into consideration. Would you recommend the hydrolux liquid cooling or the close end corsair liquid cooling? |

The Hydrlux Pro is a better unit. And looks better.

I'd also like to add......you run the risk of Hardline coming lose and leaking all over your system during shipping. UPS isn't too gentle when it comes to shipping and take it from me, you don't want that disappointment. So I second Bpratt recomendation, Stick with soft tubing.....it's easier to work with. Go with the Hydrolux, I for one don't like AIO's because I've had one fail in the past and it ruined a system. Edited by Kyser13th - 23 Jan 2017 at 11:42am |

I'n currently running a 5 year old Digital Storm ODE 4 (Just ordered a new DS PC) and have never had to mess with the liquid cooling (or anything else for that matter).
The only thing I've done is added another SSD. |

I had to refill the coolant reservoir after about 4 months as it had gone to half full and the pump was making annoying whooshing noises. It may have just been the way my system was configured but the Fan/radiator system was screwed to the top of the case and once released the weight of that system put the hard tubing at a weird angle. On trying to get the reservoir in a position to refill I had to twist it a bit awkwardly and one of the tubes came loose. Needless to say it was quite a mess as coolant leaked everywhere. I returned the system to Digital Storm and they were great and replaced the Hydrolux with a Corsair closed system at no charge as I didn't want that much hassle with maintenance. In my experience the closed loop system seems like it may be your best bet if you are just going to use your machine for mostly business applications and the occasional game. |
