Hey all,

I am in the market for a new gaming pc that will be able to last me through the rest of medical school.  However, am really unsure of how to go about building the ideal computer with a budget of roughly $2450, as unlike dell, there are many more customization options with digitalstorm and I am unsure of how to get the best bange for my buck.

Any builds or suggestions (with resons to support said suggestions) would be really appreciated!

Thanks much in advance!

I also forgot to mention that this price needs to include a monitor.

you should probably buy a monitor from an outside source. once you've decided on the price you want to spend on the monitor the good people here will help you with a config because you will have a true price for your PC.

Thanks a ton for that build.  Few questions:

1. Any point to doing the free GPU overclock?

2. Is there a point in putting up the extra cash for the 12 GB option for RAM?

3. Which would be better- dual 5870 or the 1 Geforce 480 card on here.

Thanks again for the help

1. No point in OCing the GPU. you get very little performance increase.
2. 6GB of RAM will do everything you need to do. 12GB is a waste for a gaming pc.
3. go with 1 480 and save the money for later. that 480 will last for a quite a while. when you need to get a new one then just add the new "hot" single card.
