Question? The big fan on the side of the case, can it be turn to blow out. It had been mentioned that unplugging it made no difference in temps. Would turning in outwards screw up the flow of the air inside?

Not really, you can try that, but, you will need to totally invert the fan and re-mount it.

Warm Regards,
Alex

The more air on the mobo the better. I was just wondering if there wasn't a change in temps with the big fan disconnected if blowing out would keep the dust down. It would be 1 less fan sucking in dust. Living in Utah during the summer dust is a real issue. As for the comment 2 post up? I say

The goal (according to an article I read on Anandtech or Toms Hardware) is higher positive air pressure inside the case, which increases heat transfer and forces the hot air out. So having the side fan facing inward should do more good than outward. On my current system, I verified this as being true. I also discovered that facing lower fans inward and top fans outward worked the best (which makes sense, since heat rises). I have 3 lower fans blowing inward and 2 near top blowing outward.

Cool, I'll leave the side fan the way it is.

I think somebody had this discussion with Alex long time ago about the 950si, and they changed it too and as BD says the inward yields better results.
