I'm in possession of two 140mm blue LED fans (Very similar to these --  http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835103077) and had a few questions should I decide to install them in the Corsair 230T (Vanquish II).

  1. Where would I find (or download) the fan controller program for this mobo?
  2. What are the main considerations for installation of fans?  These fans would go on the top of the case, exhausting straight up.
  3. How would I power them?  The cables seem to be very short as the PSU is on the bottom of the case and these would be at the top.
  4. What are the main considerations of power cable management?
  5. Would all fans be variable and controlled, or would some be constant?

Thanks, still new to the upgrade / modification side of computers.  Seeing all this room inside the Vanquish gives me an itch to poke around in there to see what I can learn.  Big%20Smile

The mobo fan control I believe is within AI Suite, either already installed or on the mobo disc in your folder.  Within AI Suite is Fan Xpert but it can only control the fans plugged into the mobo.  Your mobo, H81M-E I think, only has a single chassis  fan header that the front fans might be using.  If you add the top fans you can drop the right side cover and pull out the extra 4 pin peripheral plugs from the harness and  connect to them with 3-4 pin pass through adapter from Amazon, etc.  You won't be able to control them without a separate fan controller or using a resistor pack that goes between the fan and its power source to drop voltage and rpm.

Hope this helps. Big%20Smile
