Hello, I'm soon in the process of buying a new PC, I'm looking for a high-grade gaming capability with obviously some workspace also. I enjoy Gaming and working on homework in the process, I enjoy playing Minecraft, CSGO, Fortnite, and BO4. Give me any insight on any upgrades, price is around $2500-$3200, I enjoy RGB. So light and colors are important to me.

This is my build: 2383430

Let me know what you think, and ill be checking on this throughout this weekend.

Hi there MarineWarrior902!

I'd say your build is pretty solid right now. We don't know what resolution you game at so I will just generalize about that aspect.

For 2k 1080P or 1440P gaming the RTX 2070 is kind of a sweet spot mid-range video card that can play most current titles at pretty high settings in 2k.

If you plan on using a 4k monitor with high refresh rate the 2070 might need reduced game settings to play smooth. Better choice if you are 4K gaming on a big high refresh rate monitor is to go with the stronger RTX 2080 (+$379) and be able to use high game settings.

Excellent 8 core i7-9700 CPU with good Corsair AIO 240mm cooler will handle a Stage 1 Overclock perfectly.   Excellent MSI motherboard with WiFi on board. Solid fast Samsung M.2 NVME 250 GB Boot Drive 1, although I'd recommend a 500 GB size M.2 NVME (+$112) if you can...C Drive tends to fill up despite all our best intentions to limit what goes there...lol.

I would suggest the $49 spent on sound tuning fans would be a complete waste. I have a recent Lumos (excellent Corsair Crystal 570X Case) build very similar to yours that has the 120mm Corsair LL Series fans on everything, and it's a very quiet case as it is.

I would recommend the Corsair LL or ML Series 120mm fans over the Thermaltake fans, as you will use Corsairs iCue software to design your RGB lighting on the Corsair RAM... but you would have to use Thermaltake's software to control their fan colors.   Corsair LL Series also places 16 RGB LED's around the both fan hub and the outer ring for very unique RGB dual lighted band effects. The best Corsair ML 120mm fans use Mag Lev bearings and have a longer 5 yr warranty, but only use 4 hub mounted RGB LEDs.   Higher 51.5 CFM and 3.0 Static pressure are better on the Corsair LL with 2 yr warranty, while the ML Series fans are lower 47.3 CFM and 1.78 Pressure in exchange for being more quiet mag lev bearings. LL will cool just a little better and to be honest I don't hear them at all. They look very different so check them out on Corsairs site.

Going to be an awesome build...

Money saved on not doing the noise package (-$49) and switching to LL fans (-$60) could be applied to improvements.

Ok, thanks for the feedback! At the moment I'm using a dual 1920x1080 monitor setup with an RTX 1050 2G, in the future I would love to get a 4k monitor. If I were to get the RTX 2080 would it be fine if I still use a lower 1920x1080 monitor for that card? And it would just be a nice upgrade to go to a 4k monitor when I were get it?

Also, seeing that the RTX 2080 has a 7680 x 4320 max resolution, would I just add the monitors resolution together to find the max I would be using? for example, 2 1920x1080 monitors have the max of 3840x2160 and as long as it does not go further than the Graphics cards max I will be fine? I still have troubles understanding that part of a graphics card.

Also if u have any more thoughts I would love to hear them! Thanks.

Side by side would be 3840 X 1080 with those current two monitors and the 2070 could handle that OK, but frames and settings would be higher with a 2080     Would probably be wise to go with a RTX 2080 now if you hope to do 4K at decent settings on a better monitor or two with high refresh rate soon.    Your 2080 rig would last you quite a while in gaming...you might be tempted to upgrade in say 3-4 yrs, but prob won’t need to...lol.

For monitors, best bet is to shop candidates off the NVidia websites list of tested NVidia GSync monitors that is growing as they test more panels.   Will work best with NVidias display tech on board. I recommend IPS quality monitors from Dell Ultrasharp, Dell Alienware, and ASUS.

Btw...Your motherboard will have 2 fast M.2 NVME drive slots to utilize so perhaps buy another NVME drive and install it yourself when you can and put your important program and game files there for blazing speed compared to normal 6 gbps SATA drives.

Thanks for all the help! But would still love to know a good monitor for a good price that u would recommend with the specifications I will be using it for. Around $200-$500 just would love your recommendations.

So, for example, would this work?

ASUS - 27" IPS LED HD G-SYNC Monitor - Black Model Number: PG279Q
