Is it a bad idea to run a computer in a room that is 100 degrees fahrenheit?

Does the weather affect the computer?

The reason I'm asking is because I might be too lazy to put air conditioning in my room this summer.

Is there a "safe room temperature" for operating a computer?

May want to downclock your processor/gpu a bit if they're overclocked.

yes....that would be a bad thing to run a PC in a room that is 100 degrees Fahrenheit. All that hot air would be getting blown on already hot parts inside your PC causing the temps to rise even further which can cause system instability....and cause damage.....

usually you want a room with an ambient temp of around 75F or lower...that is ideal..

100c is equivalent to 37 or so C. Not too painfully bad, just not too nice for a well overclocked processor.

It's not ideal, but, the unit will still work. If it's put under heavy stress, it may be unstable. I don't recommend it.

As has been mentioned, its doable, just not recommended. I think this is primarily geared towards gaming rigs, or just any rig in general that will be heavily stressed. If you are talking about a computer, with stock settings, doing non-intensive stuff, then 100F won't be much of an issue, I speak from experience.

It will all depend on the cooling solution, going from a 75F room to a 100F room will raise temps appx 15C, that alone will more than cut the life of all the silicon in 1/2. But a slightly beefed up cooling system, and mild overclocks, would still keep temps lowe than a all stock setup.
