I'm sure there are other ways, but when I did something similar to what you are doing, I just did a fresh install of Windows 7 on my new SSD. I then saved what I wanted from my old SSD and then reformatted it and reinstalled all my games and programs.
I am sure there are ways to clone your old one, but I didn't want to put my game installs on the new one. Edited by Nomad1970 - 22 Jan 2014 at 4:56pm |

Thanks for the reply. So if I want to use my current HDD as my secondary drive and my new ssd 120gig as a boot drive only, I should just reformat the HDD and reinstall everything? Does that mean I have to buy my antivirus all over again? Or is there a way to get around that?

Where did you buy your AV? If it was on line, then you should have a install program you downloaded for it. Save it, I used a external hard drive to save things, you could also use a flash drive.
Also, after you install windows on your new SSD, copy what you need from your hard drive to the SSD before formatting it. And, you don't have to reformat if you don't want to, but you usually have to reinstall everything anyway to get the registry entries right. Edited by Nomad1970 - 22 Jan 2014 at 8:10pm |

It's from ESET.
I was thinking that I'd just bite the bullet and reformat the drive. That way I get all the space that the OS was taking up..I have an external drive I can put pics on to save them. I'm not sure if you know or not but what would you do with iTunes music? Thanks for the help,I appreciate it. |
