Topic: Couple of newbie questions.. Posted: 26 Oct 2014 at 10:42am |
Hi all - the other member recently - it has been almost 6 years since I built my last rig. This time around - I am going for a custom build and DS came up along with -----.
1. Do the computers come with both side panels? The pictures seem to show the side off. 2. Can we change cases....say to the Velox when ordering a Hailstorm 2? 3. Is the liquid cooling reliable and maintenance free? Any other thoughts are most welcome! EDIT: Competitor name removed - Alex Edited by Alex - 26 Oct 2014 at 12:02pm |

Yes the computers come with both side panels. Yes you can change the chassis (cases) in the configuration not sure about changing in the middle of DS building it. The radiators are maintenance free and are sealed.

Hi stormricker,
Welcome to our forums and thank you for considering Digital Storm, we would love to have you as a customer. Looks like Arkansas hit the nail on the head, the units do come with both side panels. If you want to change the case, you can easily do so by selecting the "Change" button on the "Chassis" section on the configurator. For zero maintenance liquid cooling, you should select either the Corsair liquid coolers our the Digital Storm Vortex liquid coolers. |

Looks fine to me although given the design of the case i would suggest changing to the Digital Storm Thermal Management Control Board & Software and the Digital Storm RGB LED Lighting System. I don't think the temp display you chose would fit given the design and given the fact there is only one optical drive slot.
That way you can configure the led lights to monitor the temps with the software Edited by ArkansasWoman777 - 26 Oct 2014 at 5:07pm |

Also the extreme cooling you chose i believe requires maintenance over time, so if you want maintenance free liquid cooling its best to choose the radiator coolers like Alex and i mentioned. They are pre-filled and sealed and require no maintenance unless the pump fails but i think its probably rare.
Course there is always the option of air cooling the system |

Looks good except for the airflow control thingy as i mentioned in my post up above. I changed it for you course you don't have to save this link if you don't want to. DS will always contact you if something doesn't work
