I'd go with a Z170 over an X99 system if this is only going to be for gaming and casual use. If you want to add a second card later on down the road, you'd want a larger power supply. And I'd change from the Seagate HDD to a WD one. But looks good otherwise.

I am not sure how the airflow is in the Apollo case but I would probably opt for the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980 Ti 6GB (ASUS Strix Edition) at 1440p. It will give you a few more fps with the factory oc.

Also I agree with the poster above and would get a larger power supply if you plan on adding a second card.

Should be a pretty good rig either way.

Thanks guys, I took most of your advice and changed from the EVGA Hybrid to the ASUS Strix on the GTX 980Ti saving money and prob netting some better performance. I also changed to WD HDD and upgraded the PSU to 1000W for future growth. Kept the X99 board as I would have had to downgrade the CPU. In fact I upgraded the CPU and still came in under $3200 and I can live with that. This is prob what I am going with. Thanks again.

good advice all around.  stay away from Seagate.  the Strix is the way to go, more performance and better heat dissipation.  i've heard those Corsair AF's are loud but they should move air out of the case really well.  i'm not sure of the Apollo's layout, but if there are hard drive bays and/or any other obstruction to the intake fans on the front of the case you might want to swap the front intake fan models to the SP (static pressure) models, they're deigned to push air through radiators, so mo'betta than your regular AF (air flow) case fans.  the rear/exhaust fan usually isn't obstructed so it's fine to keep as an AF model.  same goes for any other exhaust or even intake fan that isn't obstructed.

Looks good! From everything I have read I think you will be quite happy with the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980 Ti 6GB (ASUS Strix Edition). That is the card I have going into my build.
